Guangzhou Mode of Transport
As China's southern gateway, Guangzhou is a major air, rail and water hub. Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (CAN) is located approximately 28 km outside the city center. It is China's third-largest after Beijing and Shanghai.
From the airport, the time to access other places are Beijing (3 hrs), Shanghai (2hrs), Wuhan (1.5hrs), Chengdu (2hrs), Chongqing (2hrs), Haikou (hr), Hong Kong (1hr) and more.
With its strategic location on the Pearl River, Guangzhou is a major port city. There are frequent ferries to Hong Kong, Macau and Haikou (Hainan Island).
The cheapest way to move around Guangzhou is to use the public bus service. The bus service covers most areas in Guangzhou and fares range from only RMB 1 to RMB 2.
There are also three tourist bus lines which pass through most tourist spots in the city.
Taxi is probably the most convenient way for tourist to get around. Taxi fare starts from RMB 7 for the first 2.3 kilometers and subsequently RMB 2.6 for each kilometer.
The multi-purpose Yang Cheng Tong card, which is similar to Hong Kong’s Octopus card. This card can be used for most public transportation such as metro, bus, taxis and also at pay phones and vending machines.
Planned Itinerary
In a day trip of 8 hours, we can pay a visit to the museum of Nanyue Kings Mausoleum, the scaring Six Banyan Temple, the largest old building in Guangdong which expresses the architecture in Lingnan Region. Afterwards visit Sun Yet-Sen Memorial Hall & Chan Clan's Academy and free at leisure for shopping in the prosperous Beijing Road Pedestrian Street. Also visit to one of the Jewelry Store.

Other Places of Interest
Baiyun Mountain
A famous mountain in Lingnan and enjoys a reputation of the "First Beauty of Goat City". It includes more than 30 peaks with a mountain area spanning 28 sq km, equivalent to the total land mass of Macao.
The highest peak, Moxing Peak, is 382-meter-high and is the highest point in Guangzhou. When the sun comes out after the rain, the white clouds of the mountain wreathe around the green mountains and the blue waters, creating a lush environmental masterpiece.
New Lychee Bay
Taking a wooden boat in this water town on the emerald green water you can enjoy stunning vistas and traditional buildings presenting the Lingnan culture along the banks.
Flower City Square
The largest public square in Guangzhou, with an area of 560,000 square meters will be renovated into Guangzhou's largest garden market for plants that adds testimony to and enriches Guangzhou's reputation of "Flower City".
Shishi Sacred Heart Cathedral
Built in 1863 and completed in 1888 and presents a history of more than 100 years. Since all the church walls and pillars are made of granite and with its magnificent arches, towers and window lattices with floral designs, the cathedral is the most distinctive architecture in Guangzhou which attracts many tourists all over the world.
