Betel Box Hostel: Live Like A Local, flyer & photos

Betel Box Bacpacker Hostel, Singapore is my best recommendation if you are looking for hostel and budget stay. Even though its location is quiet far from the city hall center or Chinatown (where you can get budget hostel stay at 5footway.inn project chinatown), its lobby and environment is very cozy and comfortable. I can say that you will feel it as its flyer stated: A Home Away From Home.

What makes it so special?

  • The friendly staff and professional owner - Mr. Tony who also a certified tour coordinator specially for Joo Chiat area, hosting several scheduled tours himself, lead you to know more on JooChiat heritage trails.
  • Breakfast served with various jam and fruits.... yes FRUITs (I never been to a hostel serve with fruits, but cereal instead in some other Sg. hostel).
  • You can make your free coffee/tea ANYTIME.
  • more information from its Betel Box Official Website.
I am taking its 20 bed dorm which is spacious. You can check on hostelworld.com or booking.com for the best price.

Transportation
It is wise to take bus 33 to reach Betel Box Hostel instead of take MRT and drop at Paya Lebar MRT which take 15 minutes or more foot walk time (if you are no misdirection, which I did).

Bus to Betel Box Hostel can access from MRT station like Clarke Quay, Bugis, Lavender or Kallang to Bus Stop of 82151, Bef Joo Chiat Pl (21.8km from bus reader). You will be closer to the hostel.

Then Sze Khoon Temple of Wu Gong Hill 蜈蚣山天师宫

Then Sze Khoon Temple, also known as Centipede Temple, located on a hill in Ulu Temiang near Seremban offer with a bird's eye view of a section of Seremban town. It is one of the best recommended tourist destination to visit especially during every Chinese New Year, lunar date of 1st - 15th. It is beautifully decorated will red lantern which light up the temple and along the hills towards the temple.

There will be festival celebration for birth of Then Sze held on every 18th day May (Chinese Calender).
